Reading your numbers
What each number is actually worth
Most weight-loss sites treat every measurement as equally meaningful. They are not.
Trust most
Waist, and waist-to-height. They track the fat that actually affects your health, they respond to what you do, and they do not care what the scale says that morning.
Trust the trend
Body fat percentage and body weight. Any single reading is noise — hydration, salt, time of day. Four readings over four weeks is a signal worth acting on.
Trust least
BMI. It cannot distinguish muscle from fat and it says nothing about where weight sits. It matters mainly because insurers and prescribing guidelines are written around it.
Numbers are the easy part. The plan is the point.
